NVDA just reported $82 billion in Q1 FY2027 revenue, up 85% year over year, and announced a brand new $200 billion CPU market it has never touched before. Tonight was not just an earnings beat. It was a product company announcing a second engine.

Market News -- NVDA Q1 FY2027 Earnings, May 20 2026
NVIDIA reported Q1 FY2027 results after the close on May 20, 2026. Total revenue came in at $82 billion, up 85% year over year and 20% sequentially. The sequential increase of $13.5 billion was itself a record. Data Center revenue was $75 billion, up 92% year over year, driven by continued Blackwell architecture demand. Q2 guidance was set at $91 billion, plus or minus 2%. The company also increased its quarterly dividend from $0.01 to $0.25 per share and announced an $80 billion share repurchase authorization on top of $39 billion already remaining.
The report marked NVDA's 14th consecutive quarter of sequential revenue growth. Free cash flow hit a record $49 billion, up from $35 billion in Q4. Non-GAAP gross margins held at 75%.
The headline number investors and traders were watching was the Vera CPU announcement. CEO Jensen Huang described Vera as a purpose-built agentic AI CPU opening a $200 billion TAM that NVDA has never addressed. The company disclosed visibility to nearly $20 billion in standalone Vera CPU revenue this year alone.

What Jensen Said -- Five Things That Moved the Tape
Escape Wall Street's Control Over Your Crypto
Wall Street hijacked the stock market 200 years ago.
Now in 2026, they're coming for YOUR digital assets.
Bitcoin was supposed to be peer-to-peer. No banks. No middlemen.
Not anymore.
BlackRock owns more Bitcoin than most countries.
Fidelity's ETF hit $10 billion.
JPMorgan called Bitcoin a "fraud" — now they run billions in tokenized assets.
They ARE crypto now.
Every time you hit "Buy" on Coinbase, you're trading at their prices that they've already positioned themselves for the biggest returns. You're fighting over scraps.
It's the 2008 playbook.
Wall Street sold mortgage-backed securities to retail, then shorted them and made billions while people lost their homes.
But there's a way to operate outside their system.
Tan Gera, ex-Wall Street banker and CFA Charterholder, walked away after discovering their two-tier system.
Now, his 35-person research team helps 3,000+ investors access opportunities before Wall Street marks them up 100x.

1. Agentic AI Has Arrived
Jensen Huang's closing statement: "Agentic AI has arrived. AI can now do productive and valuable work. Tokens are now profitable." He framed compute capacity as directly equivalent to revenue and profits for NVDA's customers. He cited Anthropic and OpenAI's growth as accelerating, with OpenAI's Codex growing at a pace that would have taken a SaaS company a decade to match.
2. Vera CPU Opens a $200 Billion New Market
Vera is NVDA's first CPU purpose-built for agentic AI, co-designed with the Rubin GPU. Huang described four use cases: integrated into Vera Rubin GPU systems, standalone CPU, combined with CX9 networking for storage, and with CX9 for confidential computing. He disclosed nearly $20 billion in standalone Vera CPU revenue visibility for the current year. Every major hyperscaler and system maker signed on to deploy it.
3. New Reporting Segmentation
NVDA restructured reporting into two market platforms. Data Center breaks into Hyperscale (public cloud, large consumer internet) and ACIE (AI-native clouds, industrial, enterprise, sovereign). Edge Computing covers PCs, gaming, workstations, AI-enabled base stations, robotics, and automotive. Nine quarters of historical data posted in the new format on the IR website.
4. Anthropic Added as Strategic Partner
NVDA announced Anthropic as a new strategic partner after previously having near-zero coverage of Anthropic compute. The partnership includes securing capacity across AWS, Azure, CoreWeave, SpaceX AI, and others. Huang said the capacity being brought online for Anthropic this year and next would be "very significant," adding to the existing roster of OpenAI, Meta, xAI, Google Gemini, Microsoft, Perplexity, Cursor, and other frontier labs.
5. China Revenue Excluded From Guidance
The US government approved licenses for H200 shipments to China-based customers, but NVDA has not yet generated any revenue and said it is uncertain whether imports will actually be allowed. China data center compute revenue was not included in the Q2 guidance of $91 billion.
Vera Rubin Launch Timeline
CFO Colette Kress confirmed Vera Rubin production shipments begin in Q3 FY2027, with acceleration into Q4 and into Q1 FY2028. Demand is already planned, purchase orders are in place, and major customers are ready. NVDA disclosed $1 trillion in combined Blackwell and Rubin revenue visibility across calendar years 2025 through 2027.
Vera Rubin is described as delivering up to 35x higher inference throughput and up to 10x greater AI factory revenue compared to Blackwell. Google's A5X bare metal instances are planned to support up to 960,000 Rubin GPUs across multiple sites.
Semiconductor Complex -- Historical Earnings Reaction Framework
This is an educational review of how the semiconductor complex has historically reacted following NVDA earnings beats with raised guidance. It is not a trade setup, not an alert, and not a recommendation to buy or sell any security.
In prior quarters where NVDA beat and raised by a wide margin, names like MRVL, MU, INTC, AMD, AVGO, and AMAT traded higher in the following session as investors repriced the AI infrastructure buildout narrative. The magnitude and duration of those moves varied significantly depending on macro conditions, sector rotation, and whether the beat was already priced into the tape ahead of the print.
This quarter's additions to the framework: the Vera CPU announcement introduces a new competitive dynamic for incumbent CPU suppliers. ACIE growing 31% QoQ with AI cloud revenue more than tripling YoY signals expansion beyond the five major hyperscalers. Sovereign AI revenue growing more than 80% YoY adds a government spending angle that does not track directly with traditional hyperscaler capex cycles.
